Frances Quintana Zaubi, 91 of Vermilion, Ohio and formerly of Nemacolin, Pa., died at 3:10 P.M. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Benita Lawrence in South Amherst, Ohio. She was born October 4, 1919 in Cordoba, Spain, a daughter of the late Flores and Benita (Garrido) Quintana. Mrs. Zaubi attended Carmichaels area schools and worked as a licensed practical nurse at the former Greene County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg, Pa. for about five years. She resided in Nemacolin since 1930 before moving from Nemacolin to be with her family. While in Nemacolin, she was a member of the Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church and the Carmichaels Senior Center. On November 8, 1941, she married Thomas Zaubi, who died February 4, 1981. Surviving are a daughter, Benita Lawrence and her husband, James, of South Amherst; a son, Thomas Anthony Zaubi of Houston, Tex.; three grandchildren, Amy Byrd, Thomas Zaubi and Kirstine Lambert; four great grandchildren, Katie Byrd, Alyssa Byrd, Helenah Zaubi and Viggo Lambert; two sisters, Cecelia Gregorich and her husband, Charles, of Nemacolin and Carmen Kerr and her husband, William, of Carmichaels, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Virginia Zaubi and Mary Ustupski and two brothers, Joseph Quintana and Nick Quintana. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 A. M. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A. M. at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Crucible, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 P. M. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
