Mary T. Stevenson

Mary T. Stevenson, 91 of Pleasant Hills Borough, Allegheny County, Pa. and formerly of Greensboro, Pa., died at 8:50 P.M. on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Southwestern Nursing Center, Pleasant Hills Borough. She was born May 2, 1919 in Redstone Township, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Sophia (Kascak) Salosky. Mrs. Stevenson resided in the Greensboro area most of her life where she was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Carmichaels Senior Center. Mrs. Stevenson was kind spirited and cherished her family especially her grandsons and their families. On May 9, 1942, she married Herbert Stevenson, who died December 15, 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Lilah L. Zalar and her husband, Stanley of Elizabeth, Pa.; three grandsons, Ryan M. Zalar and his wife, Michelle, Matthew J. Zalar and his wife, Lauren and Joseph M. Zalar and his wife, Jenn; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Donald E. Stevenson, who died in 1989; two brothers, Frank Salosky and Paul Salosky and a sister, Margaret Pekar. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Saturday, February 19 2011, followed at 11:00 A. M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro, Pa. with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Friday in the funeral home.
