Margaret L. Gashie, age 85 of Waynesburg, Pa. formerly of Greensboro, Pa. died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in the Golden Living Nursing Center, Waynesburg following a lengthy illness. She was born August 11, 1925 in Allison, Pa. a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Bertha (Miller) Shimko. She was a homemaker and resided in Greensboro all of her life. Mrs. Gashie enjoyed baking and crocheting. On June 23, 1945 she married Michael J. Gashie, Jr. who died February 26, 1985. Surviving are two sons, Michael A. Gashie and his wife Kandy, and Richard A. Gashie, both of Greensboro; three daughters, Margaret C. Kurilko and her husband John, of Dilliner, Pa., Barbara Baker and her husband Joseph, of Mechanicsville, Md. and Rosemary Lidey of Waynesburg, Pa.; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one brother Joseph Shimko of New Port Richie, Fla. and a sister Josephine Kendralla of Greensboro. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcomed from 5 to 7 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 on Saturday, May 14, 2011 followed at 10:00 A.M. with a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels, Pa. with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Point Marion Endowed Cemetery, Pt. Marion, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday in the funeral home.
