Levenia M. Beanie Metcalf

Levenia M. "Beanie" Metcalf, 78 of Greensboro, Pa., died at 7:00 A. M. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in her home. She was born March 29, 1933 in Cassville, W. Va., a daughter of the late William Fleming and Zella (Bean) Fleming DeMent. Mrs. Metcalf resided in Greensboro most of her life and was a member of the Women's Auxiliaries of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles Club of Point Marion, Pa. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and cherished her faithful pet and companion, Buddy. On June 25, 1954, she married Charles E. "Sonny" Metcalf, who died October 20, 2006. Surviving are a son, Duane D. Metcalf and his wife, Maureen, of Texas; three daughters, Patricia A. Wilkins and her husband, Jim, of the State of California, Barbara J. Critney of Carmichaels, Pa. and Judy I. Drake and her husband, Paul, of Greensboro; nine grandchildren, Brianna Metcalf, Cody Metcalf, Stephanie Gross, Paul Gross, Jamie Wilkins, Kelly Wilkins, Bobby Wilkins, Shayla Critney and Clay Drake; three great grandchildren; a brother, Rex DeMent and his wife, Sandy, of Star City, W. Va.; a sister, Glenda Troy and her husband, Glenn, of Morgantown, W. Va.; a cousin, Caroline Altizer of Barracksville, W. Va. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is an infant son, Charles Edwin Metcalf and a sister, Ruth Fleming. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. Pastor Fred W. Tomlinson will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice, 2183 McClellandtown Road, Masontown, PA 15461.
