Rose Ann Guman Vannicola

Rose Ann Guman Vannicola, 80 of Greensboro, Pa., died at 12:07 P. M. on Sunday, December 11, 2011 in her home. She was born October 27, 1931 in Grindstone, Pa., a daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Toth) Guman. Mrs. Vannicola was a homemaker and resided in Greensboro most of her life. She was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church of Greensboro and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mrs. Vannicola cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. On June 27, 1953, she married Earnest W. Vannicola, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ernest W. Vannicola, Jr. and his wife, Kelleen, of Greensboro; a daughter, Denise Shoaf and her husband, Thomas, of Carmichaels, Pa.; six grandchildren, Gianna R. Burnsworth, Whitney Vannicola Zoldak and her husband, Alan, Jaclyn B. Vannicola, Suzanna Shoaf, Tommy Shoaf and Tyler Shoaf; a brother, Andrew Guman and his wife, Genevieve, of Grindstone; two sisters, Bertha Demico of Cleveland, Ohio and Clara Ochran of LaBelle, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are four brothers, Frank Guman, who died in infancy, Joseph Guman, John Guman and Louis Guman and four sisters, her twin, Irene DePole, Julia Hawks, Mary Zappia and Helen Bruzda. Also deceased are her uncle and aunt who raised her, Frank and Mary Selish and their children, Elizabeth, Rose and Andrew Selish. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, followed at 11:00 A. M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, P. O. Box 63, Bobtown, PA 15315.
