William (Bill) P. Lloyd, 59, of Masontown, Pa., died at 6:28 A.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Golden Living Center, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born December 14, 1952 in Washington, Pa., a son of Juanita Jean (DeHosse) Lloyd of Strabane, Pa. and the late William L. Lloyd. On July 18, 1997, he married Avis McKnight, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, William P. Lloyd II of Canonsburg, Pa., John J. Lloyd (Christina) of Washington, Pa. and David J. Lloyd (Nichole) of Marianna, Pa.; a daughter by marriage, Dr. Marie E. Leichliter of Waynesburg, Pa.; six grandchildren, Kenneth, William III, Dakota, Isabella, Hunter and Jacob Lloyd; two brothers, Robert Lloyd (Joann) of Washington, Pa. and Jay Lloyd (Tina) of Strabane, Pa.; a sister, Betty Jean Lloyd of Beaver Falls, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. In 1992, he retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Technical Sergeant. Then, in 1994, Bill became a Corrections Officer with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution Greene and retired with the rank of Sergeant in 2011. He was a member of American Legion Post 423, Masontown and Western Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of his life from 2 to 4 P.M., the hour of service, on Saturday, January 7, 2012, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Pastor Rick D. Miller will officiate.
