Edna Ruth Chory

Edna Ruth Chory, 83, a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living of Upper St. Clair, Pa., died at 12:49 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2012 in her residence. She was born June 4, 1928 in Keisterville, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of the late Harold Richard and Estella Mae (Hutchison) Willis. Mrs. Chory was a Methodist and resided most of her working life in Massachusetts. She was employed as a customer representative for the Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass. Upon her retirement, she and her late beloved husband, George Chory, Jr., moved to Ocala, Fla. For the past six years, Mrs. Chory resided at Sunrise Assisted Living. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including her caretaker, Gerry Willis Benson of McMurray, Pa., Beverly Willis of Fredericksburg, Va., Richard Willis and Bonnie Jankowski, both of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers-in-law, Michael Chory of Dilliner, Pa. and Joseph Chory of Derwood, Md. and two sisters-in-law, Joanne Lizambri of Somerset, Pa. and Mary Tripodi of Union, N. J. In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wendell S. Willis, Gerald Willis and Frank Willis. Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 5 P.M., the hour of service on Sunday, January 22, 2012 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The Rev. Bruce R. Judy will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Bobtown United Methodist Church, Bobtown, PA.
