Edith M. Wamsley, 71 of Cleveland, Ohio and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, January 25, 2012 in her home. She was born December 8, 1940 in Greensboro, Pa., a daughter of the late George Vernon "Hank" Jenkins and the late Betty L. (Darr) Jenkins Popovich. Mrs. Wamsley attended Southeastern Greene schools in Greene County, Pa. and was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Greensboro Baptist Church and resided in Carmichaels for many years prior to moving to live with her sister, Louise, in Cleveland, Ohio about a year ago. Surviving are two sons, Charles R. Smith of Carmichaels and Frank R. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Elko, Nev.; three daughters, Alice M. Smith of Dilliner, Pa., Anita L. Sullivan and her husband, Scott, of Grindstone, Pa. and Juanita M. Meaige and her husband, Thomas, of Marion, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; four brothers, John D. Jenkins of Elko, Nev., George S. Popovich and Walter S. Popovich, both of Akron, Ohio and David L. Popovich and his wife Jeannie of Korea; a sister, Louise LaBonte of Cleveland, with whom she made her home and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Anthony W. Smith, who died in infancy; two grandchildren, David Allen Wrick and April Lynn Brownfield and two brothers, Charles Raymond Jenkins, who died in infancy and Vernon Gene "Buck" Jenkins. Family and friends are welcome from Noon to 8:00 P.M., the hour of service, on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Pastor Frank Vucic will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
