Lois M. Hornberger

Lois M. Hornberger, 85, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born July 30, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert and Marie Elizabeth (Voelske) Eichler. Mrs. Hornberger was a graduate of Oliver High School in Pittsburgh and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Carmichaels and the church's sewing circle. Mrs. Hornberger was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. On August 1, 1926, she married Ernie Hornberger, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Rev. Sharon L. Hornberger-Brown of Waynesburg; a grandson, Nathaniel Thatcher Dennett Brown of Boston, Mass.; a brother, Raymond Eichler and his wife, Sherri, of the State of California; a sister, Elizabeth Muth of McKeesport, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Shirley Seitz. There will be no public viewing or memorial service. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 224 S. Market St., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
