Charles Dude Maletic

Charles "Dude" Maletic, 73, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 4:10 A.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. He was born November 21, 1938 in Nemacolin, Pa., a son of the late Michael "Ham" and Gertrude (Petrick) Maletic. Mr. Maletic was a 1956 graduate of Mapletown High School and worked as a construction inspector for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 30 years until his retirement. He was an active member of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees and a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6310 of Greensboro, Pa. Mr. Maletic was a former member of the Greensboro and Monongahela Township Volunteer Fire Company where he held various line officer positions including the office of fire chief. He was a Mapletown High School football fan and enjoyed deer hunting and trout fishing. On July 11, 1964, he married Darla J. Davis, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Charles Brent Maletic and his wife, Sheryl, of Washington, Pa. and a brother, Michael Maletic and his wife, Shirl, of Peoria, Ariz. Mr. Maletic leaves behind several cousins, friends and two faithful cats, Butterball and Dingle. Deceased is a sister, Carol Ann Maletic, who died in infancy. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa., where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. The Rev. Frank Vucic will officiate. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
