Paul E. Dean, Jr.

Paul E. Dean, Jr., 67, of Morgantown, W. Va. and formerly of Mount Morris, Pa., died at 9:20 A.M. on Monday, March 19, 2012 surrounded by his family at his home after a brief illness. He was born June 7, 1944 in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pa., the son of the late Paul Edward and Mary Anne (Snyder) Dean, Sr. Mr. Dean was a Methodist and served with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for 31 years at the Humphrey No. 7 Mine for the Consolidated Coal Company as a motorman and dispatcher until his retirement in 1999. Mr. Dean was a member of the American Legion Post 992 of Mount Morris for the past 44 years, a member of the Mount Morris Sportsman's Club and United Mine Workers of America Local 1058, Fairmont, W. Va. He enjoyed playing cards, working in his yard and he adored and cherished his grandchildren. On July 24, 1962, he married Elizabeth (Judy) Pecjak, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Gregory Allan Dean and his wife, Laurie, of Point Marion, Pa. and Douglas Edward Dean and his wife, Melissa, of Cassville, W. Va.; a daughter, Melody Ann Koval and her husband, Michael, of Waynesburg, Pa.; five grandchildren, Trevor Allan Dean, Brittany Koval, Michaela Koval, Kelli Koval and Malexi Dean and several nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Roger S. Barclay and his nursing staff, Amy and Patty, and to the staff at Morgantown Hospice. All arrangements are private and under the direction of the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Entombment will take place at the mausoleum at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa.
