James Peter Andrews, Jr., 65, of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2012 at his home. He was born October 17, 1946, a son of the late James Peter and Jean (Cardilli) Andrews, Sr. Mr. Andrews was a 1964 graduate of Cumberland Township High School in Carmichaels and received his bachelor's degree from West Liberty State College. He resided in Cumberland Township, Greene County all of his life where he was a member of the St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Andrews began working at the former Nemacolin Mine in 1968 until 1988. In 1990, he began working for Joy Manufacturing (Joy Global, Inc.) in Houston, Pa. where he was the general manager of the warehouse until retiring in 2009. Mr. Andrews was an avid softball player and played with the Red Star team in Carmichaels. He enjoyed yard work, house work, gardening, hunting, fishing and spoiling everyone he loved including his dog, Quinn. Mr. Andrews cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He and his buddy, Chuck, spent many hours "on break" in his barn. On June 8, 1985, he married Joetta Katusa, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, J. P. Andrews, III of Alexandria, Va. and John Henry Andrews, at home; two daughters, Courtney Jo Beebe and her husband, Luke, of Carmichaels and Petie Marie Andrews and her fiancé, Tim Rinehart, at home; two grandchildren, James Lee Beebe and Dean Kenneth Beebe; a brother, Mickey Andrews and his wife, Erwana, of Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, April 23, 2012, followed at 12:00 Noon by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park. A vigil service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home.
