James D. McIntyre, 73, of Waynesburg, Pa., died at 8:10 A.M. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in his home. He was born November 13, 1938 in Clarksburg, W. Va., a son of the late Theodore and Beulah Myrtle (Batton) McIntyre. Mr. McIntyre enlisted with the U. S. Marine Corps for three years and afterward with the U. S. Army for 10 years and served in Vietnam. He also served as an officer in the Army for 11 additional years, retiring in 1978 with the rank of major. Mr. McIntyre attended the University of South Carolina at Columbia and West Virginia University. He worked as a caseworker for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Waynesburg retiring in 1996. Mr. McIntyre was an avid golfer and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 123, American Legion Post 330 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793, all in Waynesburg. Surviving are three daughters, Pamela S. Forman and her husband, Brian, of Waynesburg, Deborah A. McAllister and her husband, David, of Apollo, Pa. and Arlene R. Silbaugh and her husband, Sam, of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Danielle Forman, Samantha Forman, Justin Silbaugh, Jaxon Silbaugh and Zachary McAllister; two brothers, Denzel McIntyre and his wife, Linda, of Cheat Lake, W. Va. and Ronald McIntyre and his wife, Helen, of Tyrone, W. Va.; a sister, Bonnie Kasten of Cheat Lake and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Donnie McIntyre. Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will take place at the conclusion of the visitation at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday. The Rev. Bruce R. Judy will officiate.
