Violet Minor Kovach, 89, of Greensboro, Pa., died at 10:25 A.M. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She was born February 12, 1923 in Greensboro, a daughter of the late F. Okey and Bernice (Donham) Minor. Mrs. Kovach was a graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in the Greensboro area all of her life. She served as an elder and Sunday school superintendent for the Greensboro Presbyterian Church and assisted with the Children's Bible Ministry at the Southeastern Greene School District. Mrs. Kovach was the office manager of her husband's State Farm agency for 41 years until his retirement in 1994. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always found time to care for and to help others. On September 20, 1947, she married William Kovach, who died September 2, 2011. Surviving are a son, William L. Kovach of Greensboro; a daughter, Janice K. Flynn and her husband, Thomas, of Greensboro; three grandsons, Tom Flynn, Jr. and his wife, Stacey, Joel Kovach and Ethan Kovach; two great grandchildren, Brandi Flynn and Ian Flynn; two sisters-in-law, June Minor of Belle Vernon, Pa. and Margaret Minor of Greensboro and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Ellsworth Minor, Gale Minor and Wayne Minor. Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. The Rev. Dr. Robert M. Randolph will officiate. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greensboro Presbyterian Church, c/o Thomas Flynn, 1733 S. Eighty Eight Rd., Greensboro, PA 15338.
