Clarence John Dickens, Jr., 39, of Rices Landing, Pa., died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 19, 2012 in his home. He was born April 18, 1973 in New Kensington, Pa., a son of Clarence John and Patti Ann (Borland) Dickens, Sr. Mr. Dickens was a 1991 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and earned his associate degree in automotive technology from Vale Technical Institute. He worked as a general inside laborer at the Maple Creek, Emerald and Bailey Coal Mines. Mr. Dickens enjoyed working on cars and was a kind and loving father, son, brother and uncle. Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Skyler Dickens of Rices Landing; a brother, Matthew J. Dickens and his wife, Jennifer, of Burke, Va.; a sister, Christina A. Burdick and her husband, Jeremy, of Oxford, N. Y.; nieces and nephews, Kiley and Brycen Dickens and Wyatt and Madelyn Burdick; several aunts, uncles and cousins and the mother of his daughter, Jennifer Lavins of Rices Landing. There will be no public viewing and all arrangements are private.
