Angelo P. Donato, 86, of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, August 28, 2012 at his home. He was born August 22, 1926 in Manhattan, N. Y., a son of the late Leonardo and Anna A. (Abad) Donato. Mr. Donato served the Lord as an elder in the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels, as a Sunday school teacher and as a former choir member. He also served his community in many capacities including as first vice president of the board of directors for Community Action Southwest, as a member of the board of directors for United Way of Greene County, as president of the Housing Authority of Greene County, as president of the Cumberland Township Zoning Board, as secretary of the Cumberland Township Planning Commission, as a member and past chaplain of the Greene County Camp 3713 of the Gideons International and as a member of the Greene County Tax Assessment Appeals Board from 1991 until 1995. In addition, Mr. Donato was a former member of the Greene County Human Services Advisory Commission, the Advisory Board of Child and Adolescent Service System Programs (CASSP) and the River Front Development Committee. As a result of his committed work ethic, he became a graphic arts executive with TGC, Inc. in New York, retiring in 1984. After retirement, he and his wife, Mildred E. (Johnson) Donato, returned to her hometown of Carmichaels in January of 1985. The couple was married on October 26, 1957. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Mark Johnson Donato and his wife, Diane of Carmichaels; a daughter, Louisa Johnson Keller and her husband, Richard, of Carmichaels; seven grandchildren, Allen William Keller and his wife, Rachel, Jason Robert Keller, Nathan Thomas Keller, Ricki Samala Keller, Jessica Marie Donato, Jennifer Lynn London and her husband, Matthew and Dominic Johnson Donato; a great grandson, Brandon C. Keller; a sister, Lucia Colonnese of Windsor, Col.; several nieces and nephews including Roger and Raymond Colonnese and his godchild, Lori Smith. Deceased are five brothers, Angelo, who died in infancy, Frank, Joseph, Charles and John Donato and a sister Carmelita Donato, who died in infancy. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P. M. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church (PCA), 104 East Greene St., Carmichaels, Pa. with Pastor P. Keith Larson officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa.
