Thelma J. Wytko, 86, of Greensboro, Pa., died at 10:01 A.M. on Monday, November 5, 2012 in her home. She was born December 14, 1925 in York Run, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Martin William and Susan (Shuman) Yaniga. Mrs. Wytko was a 1943 graduate of Georges Township High School and resided her married life in the Greensboro area. She was a member of the former Holy Family Roman Catholic Church of Greensboro and the Rosary Altar Society of the church. While her children were in high school, Mrs. Wytko served as president of the Mapletown Band Boosters and was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Union. She enjoyed baking and was very devoted to her family. She was especially proud of her marriage of 62 years to her late husband, Henry F. Wytko, Sr. The couple was married on January 14, 1950 and Henry passed away on April 26, 2012. Surviving are a son, Henry F. Wytko, Jr. and his partner, Randy, of Springfield, Va.; a daughter, Deborah S. Gresh and her husband, Michael, of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Bradley Zoldak and Alan S. Zoldak and his wife, Whitney and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Albin Yaniga, William Yaniga and Edward "Junior" Yaniga. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Amedisys Hospice and to Mrs. Wytko's caregivers, Jolene Weston and Erika Menear. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2012, followed at 1:00 P.M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. Alvin Gutierrez as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
