Glenda H. Sweeney, 89, of Greensboro, Pa., died at 1:13 P.M. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in her home. She was born January 16, 1924 in Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late George and Bertha Mae (Hamilton) Pringle. Mrs. Sweeney was a graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in the Greensboro area all of her life. She was a member of the Mapletown Methodist Church and served as treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Greensboro and Monongahela Township Volunteer Fire Company. Mrs. Sweeney enjoyed bowling, watching birds and playing bingo. On May 2, 1945, she married Cliff Sweeney, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, Jack Pringle and his wife, Rose, of Greensboro and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home , Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Greene County Memorial Park. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mapletown Methodist Church, 928 Mapletown Rd., Greensboro, PA 15338.
