Carl Otto Heinzman

Carl Otto Heinzman, 89, of Big Springs, W. Va. went to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Crucible, Pennsylvania. He was born August 28, 1924 in New Martinsville, W. Va. to the late August S. Heinzman and Vesta Jones. He was a United States Navy World War II veteran. Mr. Heinzman served from March 24, 1944 until April 30, 1946 on the USS Griffin and Subron 12. After his military service, he became a Master Carpenter and retired at age 77.

Surviving are three sons, Ronald (Marty) Heinzman of Rootstown Ohio, Robert (Diana) Heinzman of Ashley Ohio and Tim (Teresia) Abel of Big Springs W. Va.; three daughters, Janet (Stephen) McPeek of Cambridge Ohio, Kathy (Jamie) Hardman and Jeanette Richards both of Macfarlan W. Va.; a sister, Betty Alley; three brothers Kenneth, Archie and Phillip Heinzman, all of Ohio and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobbie Heinzman and his longtime companion, Betty Abel.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Prosperity Baptist Church at Leading Creek with Rev. Ron Chesser officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will follow in the Goodnight Cemetery at Bigbend. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 A. M. until 12:00 P.M. prior to the service.
