John E. Wozny

John E. Wozny, 67, of Carmichaels, Pa., died of apparent heart failure on Friday, December 6, 2013 at his home. He was born December 23, 1945, a son of the late Charles W. and Betty M. (Lint) Wozny. Mr. Wozny graduated from Carmichaels Area High School in 1963. Following high school graduation, he moved to Washington, D. C., where he worked for the FBI and served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Wozny was called to active duty during the riots following the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. He attended the Bucknell School of Banking. In the 1970's, Mr. Wozny returned to Greene County, working as a banker for Gallatin Bank, First National Bank, Integra Bank and National City Bank, from which he retired in 1991. Mr. Wozny operated a private heating and air conditioning business with his brother following his retirement from banking. In 1964, he married Geraldine Anne (Bedilion) Wozny, who died in 1982. In 1985, he married Jayne M. (Woods) Streit, who died in 2005. Mr. Wozny is survived by his companion, Nicole Watson, with whom he made his home in Carmichaels; a daughter, Jonella Williamson and her husband, Ben of Waynesburg, Pa.; four sisters, Mary Ann Walker and her husband, Roy, Sr. of Virginia, Brenda Jones and her husband, Steve of South Carolina, Sarah Bussoletti and her husband, Kenneth of West Virginia and Linda Dulik and her husband, Mike of Nemacolin, Pa.; two brothers, Frank Wozny and his wife, Pam of Greensboro, Pa. and Mark Wozny and his wife, Debbie of Crucible, Pa.; three step children, Edward Streit and his wife, Brandi of Carmichaels, Daniel Streit and his wife, Betty of Ohio and Anna Messina and her husband, Kenneth of Sharon, Pa. and several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. There will be no public viewing and, at the request of the deceased, all arrangements are private under the direction of the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels and will be handled at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Samaritan's Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
