Mildred Hruska

November 12, 1919 — February 2, 2014

Mildred Hruska, 94, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 12:45 A.M. on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born November 12, 1919 in Leisenring, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Dora (Marcus) Baker. Mrs. Hruska resided in Carmichaels since 1941 where she was a member of the St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, the St. Hugh Rosary Altar Society and the St. Hugh Senior Activity Group. On September 7, 1935, she married August J. Hruska in New Salem, Pa., who died August 23, 2003. Surviving are three daughters, Mildred Bair and her husband, John, of Carmichaels, Mary "Ibby" Levine and her husband, Howard, of Middletown, Md. and Barbara Smith and her husband, Robert, of Stafford, Va.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was the last of her siblings. Deceased are a grandson, Richard Bair; five brothers, Martin Baker, Mike Baker, Joseph Baker, William Baker and Peter Baker and five sisters, Helen David, Mary Mosier, Martha Vuicich, Anna Ozanich and Mollie DePace. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 6, 2014, followed at 1:30 P.M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 3:45 P.M. on Wednesday in the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice or toward cancer of Alzheimer's disease research.
