Lydia Kirkpatrick Kuhn

Lydia Kirkpatrick Kuhn, 85, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Centerville, Pa., died at 1:50 A.M. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Golden LivingCenter, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born July 31, 1928 in Jefferson Township, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Wilbur Franklin and Sarah Viola (Hutchison) Kirkpatrick. Mrs. Kuhn resided in Carmichaels since 2004. She had been employed at the former Kart's in the Uniontown Mall. Later she worked as a personal housekeeper for Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Kart in Brownsville, Pa. Until 2004, she baby sat children in and around the Centerville area for many years. Mrs. Kuhn enjoyed organizing the Kirkpatrick family reunion for over 15 years. Her relationship with her family was of most importance to her. On January 28, 1974, she married Charles C. Kuhn, Jr., who died August 20, 2009. Surviving are two daughters, Linda M. Iloshway of Sayville, N.Y. and Brenda L. Guthrie and her husband, Daryl, of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, Jennifer M. Price, Julie M. Jakubik, John J. Jakubik and James C. Jakubik; three sisters, Virginia Perakovich of Low Hill, Pa., Elma Steiner of Smithton, Pa. and Frances McGowan and her husband, John, of Fayette City, Pa.; three sisters-in-law, Imogene Kirkpatrick of Perryopolis, Pa., Helen Kirkpatrick of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mary Kirkpatrick of Belle Vernon, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Jakubik, who died in 1995; five brothers, Lawrence, Leroy, Wilbur and his wife, Marilyn, Norman and his wife, Josephine, and Arthur Kirkpatrick; two sisters, Wilma Kirkpatrick, who died in infancy and Grace Hayduk and a son-in-law, John R. Jakubik. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Interment will be private. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
