Loretta Mcminn Riggs

Loretta (McMinn) Riggs, 78 of Wind Ridge, Pa. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 5:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the home of her brother, Albert McMinn, Jr. in Carmichaels, Pa. after a brief illness. She was born March 20, 1936 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine Harriett (McCann) McMinn, Sr. Mrs. Riggs was a member of the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene and worked as a telephone switchboard operator with the South Penn Telephone Company in Carmichaels until 1959. Mrs. Riggs later worked at Aglio's Bakery in Carmichaels. On October 30, 1976, she married Everett Lee Riggs and moved to Wind Ridge. The couple was married in the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, Jefferson, Pa. Mrs. Riggs enjoyed working on the family farm with her husband, Everett, who died February 25 of this year. Surviving are three brothers, Glenn McMinn, and his wife, Drema, of Edinburg, Va., Donald "Red" McMinn, and his wife, Nancy, of Alexandria, Va. and Albert McMinn, Jr., and his wife, Marsha, of Carmichaels; two sisters, Shirley Sanner, and her husband, Jack, of Pottstown, Pa. and Esther McMinn of Carmichaels; a sister-in-law, Louise McMinn of Midland, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a brother, Walter Gareth McMinn and two sisters, Bessie Ann McMinn, who died in childhood and Mabel McMinn. Family and friends are welcomed from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 4, 2014. The Rev. Carl Kibler will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville, Pa.
