Michael C. Madich

Michael C. Madich, 62, of Masontown, Pa. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa. died at 12:06 A.M. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in his home. He was born April 16, 1952 in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of the late Charles "Bill" and Martha Ann (Billek) Madich. Mr. Madich was a 1971 graduate of the Carmichaels Area High School and served with the U. S. Navy from 1971 until 1975 during the Vietnam Era. He worked at the Emerald Mine as long as his health permitted and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Emerald Local 2258 and American Legion Post 816 in Rices Landing. Michael enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. His wife, JoAnn (Zelina) Arndt Madich, whom he married on November 4, 2013, survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Leanna Madich and her husband, C. J. Lowry, of Nemacolin, Pa., Olivia Makel and her husband, Jason, of Waynesburg, Pa., Alissa Madich of Carmichaels, Kara J. Arndt and her fiancé, Jason Buncic, of Canonsburg, Pa. and Megan L. Lyons and her husband, Gerald, of Louisa, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Jenna, Emma, Jacob, Ava, Lidia, William and Evan; a brother, Gary L. Madich and his wife, Cynthia, of Columbus, Ohio; a nephew, Joseph Madich; a niece, Anna Fregeau and her husband, Phillepe; the mother of his children, Susan Madich of Carmichaels and many true friends. Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday with the Rev. Frank Menhart officiating. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
