Dorothy J. Lesnick

Dorothy J. Lesnick, 80, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in her home after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born January 31, 1934 in Ralph, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late John Edward and Mary Margaret (Marietta) Morgan. Mrs. Lesnick was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School in Carmichaels and resided in Carmichaels all of her life. She worked as a cook at the former Curry Memorial Home in Waynesburg, Pa. for many years and she and her late husband, Bill, enjoyed the camaraderie at Janet's Diner in Masontown, Pa. She was a faithful member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels where she served as a deaconess, a member of the choir and the Women in the Church. Mrs. Lesnick enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing dart ball. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. On August 5, 1980, she married William W. Lesnick, who died April 17, 2005. Surviving are two sons, Eric S. Ledgerton and his wife, Bobbi Jo, of Front Royal, Va. and Clay K. Ledgerton and his wife, Kris, of Crucible, Pa.; a step daughter, Helen Miller and her husband, Clint, of Freeport, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; the father of her sons, Stanley Ledgerton, of Mount Morris, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, John Morgan and a sister, Evelyn Barr. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 P.M. on Saturday with the Rev. P. Keith Larson officiating. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
