Evelyn Marie Shiflett

Evelyn Marie Shiflett, 89, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 2:02 P.M. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Golden LivingCenter, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born October 25, 1925 in North Union Township, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Jasper A. and Blanche Evelyn (Oldland) Thomas. Mrs. Shiflett resided in Carmichaels her entire life where she was a member of the First Christian Church. She worked at Greenway Manufacturing for a number of years before becoming the produce manager at Brodak's Shop N Save in Carmichaels. Mrs. Shiflett enjoyed playing scrabble, gardening, cooking, baking and feeding the birds around her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. On April 14, 1945, she married James C. Shiflett, who died May 12, 1975. Surviving are two daughters, Joyce A. Clark and her husband, Don, of Monroeville, Pa. and Rose M. Montgomery and her husband, Tom, of Carmichaels; eight grandchildren, James Shipley, Ken Shipley (Holly), Melinda Shipley, Jennifer McMurry (Philip), Thomas Montgomery, Jr., Chad Montgomery (Elizabeth), Erik Clark (Shelli) and Shannon Mocharko (Brad); 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Randy L. Thomas and his wife, Linda, of St. Albans, W. Va. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a daughter, Linda L. Shimek. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Pastor Christopher L. Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Christian Women's Fellowship of the First Christian Church, 235 S Market St., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
