Edward J. White, 72, of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly at 2:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in his home. He was born March 26, 1942 in Fredericktown, Pa., a son of the late Albert L. and Garnet H. (Gordon) White. Mr. White served two tours of duty with the U. S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and worked for the Borough of Carmichaels in the 1980's. He later moved to Rocky Mount, S. C. and worked for Cavalier Homes in Nashville, N. C. In 2004, Mr. White returned to Carmichaels. He enjoyed all sports and coached girl's softball for Pappy's Lounge in Carmichaels for many years. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed dancing to "Pretty Woman". On January 29, 1968, he married Lana E. Metcalf, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Tammy L. Brumfield and her companion, Scott Palmer, of Rices Landing, Pa.; three sons, Gary W. White and his wife, Janelle, of Fredericktown, Edward J. White, II and his wife, Chassity, of Greensboro, Pa. and Brian K. White of Rices Landing; 10 grandchildren, Heather Brumfield, Bruce Brumfield, Erica Lingenfield and her husband, Clarke, Gary White, Edward White, III, Victoria White, Nicole White, McKenzie White, Brian White and William White; four great grandchildren, Jayden, Jordon, Ej and Rylan; a brother, Rev. Albert L. White and his wife, Charlotte, of Clarksville, Pa.; a sister, Donna Gill and her husband, Phillip, of Brownsville, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a nephew, Phillip Gill. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 12, 2015. The Rev. P. Keith Larson will officiate. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
