Mary E. Clark

Mary E. Clark, 72, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 10:03 P.M. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at her home after a 12 year battle with cancer. She was born February 22, 1943 in Crucible, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Laura Madeline (Reagan) Zappone. Mrs. Clark was a 1963 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School, resided in Crucible and Carmichaels most of her life and was a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church. In the 1970's, she served as a Girl Scout leader and was an avid bingo player. Mrs. Clark was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. On May 28, 1966, she married Fred C. "Skip" Clark, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Fred C. Clark, Jr. and his wife, Jen, of Carmichaels and Michael A. Clark and his wife, Marcie, of Greensboro, Pa.; a daughter, Ruth Ann Shaffer of Carmichaels; six grandchildren, Fred C. Clark, III, Gabrielle E. Clark, Aliceon M. Clark, Noah J. Clark, Nathaniel H. Shaffer and Paul A. Shaffer, Jr.; a brother, Dennis Zappone and his wife, Linda, of Carmichaels; three sisters, Theresa J. Walters of Carmichaels, Beverly Febus of Saint Louis, Mo. and Ruth Piel and her husband, Jerry, of Crucible; a brother-in-law, Harry Dugan of Streetsboro, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a daughter, Christine E. Clark, who died at birth in 1967; a brother, Charles Zappone and a sister, Dorothy Dugan. There will be no public viewing and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 East Greene Street, Carmichaels, Pa. Pastor P. Keith Larson will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
