Margaret "Pat" Curtis, 84, of Wylie, Texas and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 in Plano, Tex. She was born September 12, 1930 in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Harry Edward and Willa Viola (McMinn) Rizer. Mrs. Curtis worked as a licensed practical nurse at Doctor's Hospital in Dallas, Tex. and later in Atlanta, Ga. She attended St. Petersburg (Florida) Junior College where she became a registered nurse in 1983. Mrs. Curtis worked in St. Petersburg, Fla. before moving to Greenville, Tex. where she became a post anesthesia recovery room nurse. Mrs. Curtis is survived by a daughter, Linda Pettingell and her husband, Robert, of Albuquerque, N. Mex.; two sons, Thomas Curtis and his wife, Gloria, of Dallas, Tex. and Steven Curtis and his wife, Bobi, of Wylie; a sister, Harriet Walters and her husband, Francis, of Madison, Ohio; six grandchildren, Ralph Pettingell, Kellyn Curtis, Tommy Curtis, Sean Curtis, Lindsay Davis, and Tracy Dockery and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Franklin Curtis, Jr. and a grandson, Brian Pettingell. A service to bless her cremains will be held at 1:00 P. M. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The Rev. John M. Bauer will officiate. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
