Perry J. "Pete" Henry, 75, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Monday afternoon, April 20, 2015 in his home. He was born January 16, 1940 in Garards Fort, Pa., a son of the late Columbus B. And Wilda (Dugan) Henry. Mr. Henry was a 1957 graduate of Mapletown High School and served with the U. S. Air Force in California, Puerto Rico and Florida. He became a member of the Carmichaels and Cumberland Township Volunteer Fire Company on December 18, 1964 and served as a fire fighter and engineer and currently was holding the office of trustee. Mr. Henry was recognized for his 50 years of service by the Fire Company in December of 2014. In addition, he was a member of the Greene County Firemen's Association and the Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Association. Mr. Henry attended the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening and playing his guitar. On February 1, 2002, he retired as lead lineman for Allegheny Power where he had worked for 39 years. On November 15, 1959, he married Clara Mae Neptune, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Bradley S. Henry of Uniontown, Pa., Mark A. Henry and his wife, Jeanine and John M. Henry and his wife, Jennifer, all of Carmichaels; two grandsons, Colton Henry and Brett Henry; two brothers, Ronald T. Henry and his wife, Marna, of Waynesburg, Pa. and Columbus J. Henry and his wife, Sally, of Garards Fort and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his grand dog, Trixie. Deceased is a sister, Norma Henry, who died in childhood. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. On Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 East Greene Street, Carmichaels, Pa. with the Rev. Sam Biser and Rev. P. Keith Larson officiating. Interment will follow at Garards Fort Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Carmichaels Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force. The Carmichaels and Cumberland Township Volunteer Fire Company will conduct a firemen's tribute at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
