Norma Jean Smith, 80, of Greensboro, Pa., died unexpectedly at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born June 20, 1935 in Cabins, W. Va., a daughter of the late Gabriel B. and Bertha (Barger) Goldizen. Mrs. Smith resided in Greensboro since 1965. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed her cats and working puzzles. Mrs. Smith cherished her family, especially her great grandchildren. Her husband, Walter V. Smith, died on February 17, 2008. Surviving are two sons, Vernon L. Smith and his wife, Sheila, of Smithfield, Pa. and David Allen Smith and his wife, Norma, of Morgantown, W. Va.; six grandchildren, Julie Sines and her husband, David, Jenna Smith and her husband, Jason, James Vernon Smith and his wife, Mandee, Jordan Smith, David McCrobie and his wife, Lisa and Eric Smith; five great grandchildren, Emily Sines, Elliott Sines, Kathryn McCrobie, Alexandria McCrobie and Chloe Smith; a brother, Paul "Babe" Goldizen and his wife, Thelma, of Petersburg, W. Va.; two sisters, Arbutus Daniels of Petersburg and Nadine Jordan of Baltimore, Md. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a son, Sheldon Gene Smith and three brothers, Sam Goldizen, Luther "Butch" Goldizen and Arno "Peck" Goldizen. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 29, 2015. Pastor Darrell Edgar will officiate. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.
