Louise M. Shoaf Long Peck, 86, of the Carmichaels Arbors, Carmichaels, Pa., was peacefully called home to the Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2015 while in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. Mrs. Peck was born December 25, 1928 in Cowensburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Luke) Shoaf. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmichaels and served as a janitor for the Fellsburg United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Peck enjoyed spending time and playing bingo at the Carmichaels Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and traveling to Florida every winter. Some of Mrs. Peck's last words to her family surrounding her at her bedside were "I just want my kids to love each other. God forgives and forgets so we all need to do that too!" On May 30, 1947 she married John Long who died September 30, 1974. On April 5, 1976, she married Donald Peck, who died July 15, 2003. Mrs. Peck enjoyed 27 years of marriage with each of her husbands prior to the Lord calling them home. Surviving are a daughter Diane Rayburn Hicks of Toledo, Ohio; two sons Mark Long and his wife, Wendy, of Carmichaels, and Robert Long and his wife, Lynette, of Fredericktown, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Richard Rayburn of Ford City, Pa., Michelle Herbster of Toledo, Ohio, Renee Bennett (Barry) and Tina Trainor (Mark), both of Carmichaels, Tricia Blatnik (Vince) of Fredericktown, Joshua Long (Nicole) of Maine and Amanda Erickson (Joshua) of Georgia. Mrs. Peck was also blessed with 18 great grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Rayburn, Cheryl, Jessica and Brian Herbster, Eric, Brandon and Nathan Bennett, Chad and Corey Trainor, Luke Blatnik, Mackenzie, Caleb, Chase, and Carter Long and Tiffany, Robert and Isabella Erickson; two great great grandchildren; two step sons, Ken Peck (Sandy) of Butler, Pa., Russell Peck (Diane) of Fayette City, Pa., and a step daughter, Charlene Peck Hare (Jim) of Ashtabula, Ohio and two step grandchildren Ryan Peck and Kaytlyn Hare and a wonderful caregiver of over three years, Darlene Beswick of Carmichaels whom she loved very much. Deceased in addition to her parents and former husbands are a brother, Merle Shoaf; a sister, Mable Jennings and a granddaughter Cheryl Rayburn. Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 9 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. were the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 3, 2015. The Rev. Bruce R. Judy will officiate. Interment will follow at Fells Cemetery, Belle Vernon, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Carmichaels Senior Center, P. O. Box 184, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
