Jean Lewis

Jean Lewis, 89, of Morgantown, W. Va. and formerly of Davistown and Mapletown, Greene County, Pa., died at 12:00 A.M. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Sundale Nursing Home, Morgantown. She was born May 26, 1926 in Alicia, Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late John Ernest and Tillie Opal (Phillips) Wagner. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church, Garards Fort, Pa. and enjoyed gardening and baking. On June 4, 1944, she married Ellis H. Lewis, who died March 16, 1980.

Surviving are a son, Richard Ellis Lewis and his wife, Sandy, of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Kelly Abell and her husband, Brian and Matthew Christian Lewis; six great grandchildren, Callen Abell, Avery Abell, Eli Abell, Jedi Abell, Zeke Abell and Ashley Gayle; a brother, James W. Wagner of Ludlow, Mass.; two sisters Theda Sawyers and her husband, Robert, of Brownsville, Pa. and Connie Barb of Greensboro, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, John E. Wagner and Robert W. Wagner and three sisters, Martha Haney, Vivian Maple and Gertrude Pauley.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa.

There will be no visitation on Friday.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Whipkey officiating.

Interment will follow at Garards Fort Cemetery, Garards Fort, Pa.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Altzheimer's Association.
