Georgia Holdsworth Gideon

Georgia Holdsworth Gideon, 89, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died Tuesday morning, June 7, 2016 at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. She was born December 19, 1926 in Allison, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late George and Pearl (Barkley) Holdsworth. Mrs. Gideon resided in Carmichaels most of her life where she was a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church. At Greene Valley Presbyterian, she had taught first grade Sunday school for many years, assisted with vacation bible school and was a member of the adult church choir for over 70 years. On February 28, 1947, she married William J. Gideon, who died August 6, 1999.

Surviving are three sons, Bruce W. Gideon and his wife, Peggy, of Fayetteville, Pa., David J. Gideon and his wife, Patricia, of Poway, Cal. and Jeffrey B. Gideon of Latrobe, Pa.; a daughter, Barbara Gideon and her husband, Robert Bowker of Charlotte, Mich.; six grandchildren, Justin Gideon and his wife, Laura, Jeffrey Gideon and his wife, Cindy, Kristen Smith and her husband, Jonathan, Christopher Bowker, Keith Gideon and his wife, Adrienne and Alex Gideon; six great grandchildren, David Gideon, Noah Gideon, Adelyn Gideon, Owen Gideon, Makena Smith and Elias Smith; a sister, June Donham and her husband, Dave, of Garards Fort, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three sisters, Janet Thompson, Mabel Holdsworth and Ruth Sanner.

Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday June 11, 2016 at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 E. Greene St., Carmichaels, Pa. with the Rev. P. Keith Larson officiating.

Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
