Robert Warne Watson, 71, of Carmichaels, Pa., went to be with the Lord and Savior unexpectedly at 12:10 P.M. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Washington Health System Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. He was born May 17, 1945 in Clarksburg, W. Va., a son of the late Ruth (Warne) Watson. Mr. Watson grew up in Waynesburg, Pa. and graduated from Waynesburg High School. He graduated Cum Laude from Penn State University where he loved his Nittany Lions. Mr. Watson taught art for 30 years in the Carmichaels Area School District where his students were his joy in teaching. He also taught night school for adult education for those seeking their GED for 20 years and enjoyed his time with every student. Mr. Watson was a member of the Sons of Cumberland American Legion Post 400 in Carmichaels.
On December 8, 1972, he married Dalene F. Mt.Joy, who survives. Mr. Watson was a proud brother to William F. Watson and his wife, Patricia, of Washington, Kit Douglas Watson and his wife, Debbie, of Enola, Pa. and Christopher Lewis Watson and his wife, Cathy, of Carmichaels. He was a great son-in-law and brother-in-law. Also surviving are three cousins, Scott Wallace of Atlanta, Ga. and Dee Wallace and Mary Lynn Morris, both of Oregon and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Joseph Warne Watson and a nephew, Jason M. Kolat. Mr. Watson will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 16, 2016. The Rev. Dayton D. Mix will officiate.
Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
