June Stevenson Kaufman

June E. Stevenson Kaufman, 99, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Garards Fort, Pa., died at 3:14 A.M. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Waynesburg. She was born August 11, 1917 in Aleppo, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Jesse (Yoders) Barnhart. Mrs. Kaufman resided in Garards Fort since 1949 where she was a longtime member of the John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Kaufman was know by her family to be a generous and giving person. On October 24, 1936, she married Robert F. Stevenson, who died March 26, 1975. On May 1, 1976, she married Paul Kaufman, who died September 20, 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Charles J. Stevenson and his wife, Susie, of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Larry D. Stevenson and his wife, Donna, of Garards Fort; a step daughter, Lois E. Piper and her husband, Larry, of Smithfield, Va.; seven grandchildren, Kathy Watson (Keith), Brian Stevenson (Michelle), Tricia Crouch (Gary), Barry Stevenson (Christine), Laura Rosile (Anthony), Bruce Stevenson (Tina) and Robert Lee Stevenson, Jr. (Peggy); 15 great grandchildren; five step grandchildren, Bob Hime, Barbara Courtney, Tracy Fies, Lori Piper and Lee Piper; seven step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husbands are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Shirley Stevenson; a granddaughter, Mindy Roth; three brothers, Albert Barnhart, Harold Barnhart and Thomas Barnhart; two sisters, Celeste Reid and Enod Drake and a step daughter, Wanda Jean "Jeanne" Hime.

Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 8 P.M., the time of the funeral service on Tuesday evening, October 11, 2016 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Pastor Gary L. Whipkey will officiate.

Private interment will take place at Garards Fort Cemetery.
