Sanford D. Johnson, 80, of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in his home. He was born October 30, 1935 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of the late William Lewis and Lillian (Barnhart) Johnson, Sr. Mr. Johnson was a former member of the former Full Gospel Community Church in Carmichaels and last attended the First Baptist Church in Carmichaels. For over 20 years, he attended the visitations at the funeral homes in Carmichaels with his flower ministry. Mr. Johnson also helped distribute food for the needy. He and his brother, Sam, operated Johnson Brothers Used Furniture and Antiques for 23 years until 1991.
Surviving are seven nephews; six nieces and several great nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, William Lewis Johnson, Sr., Samuel T. Johnson and Donald R. Johnson and three sisters, Jean Kohut, Mary Jane McNatt and Elda Ruth Rowe.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 6 P. M. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa.
The funeral service will follow at 7:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the funeral home with Pastor Charles H. Sowden officiating.
Private interment will take place at Greene County Memorial Park.
