Ruth Ann Polander

June 14, 1960 — January 10, 2017

Ruth Ann Polander, 56, of Rixeyville, Va. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 12:50 A.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Prince William County Hospital, Manassas, Va. after a lengthy illness. She was born June 14, 1960 in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Vincent M. and Leila G. (Rich) Hennessey. Mrs. Polander was a 1978 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and resided in Virginia since 1986. She was a member of the Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church in Culpeper, Va. and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Mrs. Polander was a fan of Elvis Presley and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

On November 25, 1978, she married Daniel R. Polander, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Daniel R. Polander and his wife, Nikki, of Linden, Va.; a daughter, Autumn R. Hayes and her husband, Eli, of Culpeper; six grandchildren, Tyler Houston, Natalie Houston, Nathan Hayes, Peyton Houston, Ethan Hayes and Leila Polander; two sisters, Lisa L. Allison and her husband, Todd, of Carmichaels and Paddy L. Pratt and her husband, Preston, of Rices Landing, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a nephew, Patrick Robert Pratt, who died in infancy.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 16, 2017, followed at 11:00 A.M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association or to the Foundation for Alcoholism Research.
