Thomas E. Gashie

Thomas E. Gashie, 52, of Dilliner, Pa., died at 3:45 P.M. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in his home after a lengthy illness. He was born September 22, 1964 in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of Wynona M. "Toodie" (Smerdell) Gashie, with whom he made his home and the late Frank J. "Fed" Gashie. Tom was a 1982 graduate of Mapletown High School and attended West Virginia University. He resided in the Greensboro, Pa. area all of his life and was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, Pa. Tom worked at the Waynesburg Shop N Save from 1984 until 1995 and for the past 21 years as a pre-sale representative for Pepsi Bottling Group, Fairmont, W. Va. He enjoyed NASCAR, farming, traveling, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame sports and General Motors cars.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his fiancé, Andrea L. Hart; a brother, Tony Gashie and his wife, Judy, of Greensboro; two sisters, Michelle Bellich and her husband, Gregory, of Cranberry Township, Pa. and Patricia G. Post and her husband, William, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five nieces and a great nephew.

The family wishes to thank Doctors William Mitchell, Charles Beall and Darrell Saunders, the medical hospitalist and the staff at Monongalia General Hospital and Amedisys Hospice for the care and support that they provided for Tom.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Monday, April 3, 2017, followed at 11:00 A.M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Masontown with the Rev. William G. Berkey as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Point Marion, Pa.
