Nicholas E. Wallace, 66, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 5:10 A.M. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born February 5, 1951 in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of the late Edward and Stella "Teddy" (Simons) Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a 1970 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and resided in Cumberland Township, Greene County all of his life. He served with the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era as a mechanic and in-flight refueling systems specialist. Mr. Wallace began working for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 1989 and retired in 2013. He was a member of American Legion Post 278, Fairchance, Pa. and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. On January 22, 2008, he married Deborah J. (Kondrla) Horvath, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Brandon Keith Wallace and his wife, Terri, of Killeen, Tex.; a daughter, Nichole Marie Wallace of Nemacolin, Pa.; a step son, Joseph Lewis Horvath, III and his fiancé, Jessica Shuppe; a step daughter, Mundania Marie Horvath of Uniontown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Joshua Wallace, Hannah Wallace, Courtney Vedis and Nicholas Vedis; a step granddaughter, Emma Horvath; a great grandson, Bentley; a sister, Charlotte Bane of Mather, Pa. and several nieces. Deceased is a sister, Linda Kasecky.
Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 4, 2017. The Rev. Rebecca F. Dittenhafer will officiate.
Interment will follow in the veterans area of Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa. The Carmichaels Honor Guard and the United States Air Force will accord military honors at the graveside.
