Jeffrey Alexander Curtis, 22, of Belle Vernon, Pa., died Monday morning, May 1, 2017 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital, Monongahela, Pa. He was born August 13, 1994 in Alliance, Ohio, a son of Jeffrey A. and Melissa (Brodak) Curtis, with whom he made his home. Mr. Curtis was a 2013 graduate of Huntington High School, Huntington, W. Va. and was attending California University of Pennsylvania at the time of his death. He was currently serving with the Army National Guard at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa. as a Black Hawk helicopter flight technician. Mr. Curtis was a fine gentleman and a loving son, brother, grandson and nephew and was always a conscientious and hard worker.
Surviving in addition to his parents are three sisters, Lezlie A. Curtis and her husband, Sam Thorn, of Los Angeles, Cal., Lissa M. Curtis of Tucson, Ariz. and Jaycee L. Curtis, at home; two nephews, Ignatius and Sidney Thorn; paternal grandmother, Lenore K. Curtis, of Akron, Ohio; maternal grandparents, John and Coral Brodak of Carmichaels, Pa.; aunts and uncles, David Curtis of Akron, Rebecca Curtis Kidd of North Canton, Ohio, Jackie Horvath and her husband, Andy, of Ligonier, Pa., Dena Ferek of Waynesburg, Pa. and Joseph Brodak and his wife, Stacey, of Washington, Pa.; a great aunt, Lorraine Welsh and her companion, David Roberts and several cousins. Deceased is an uncle, John Curtis.
Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 5, 2017. Pastor Terry A. Sanders will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Autism Society, 40 East-West Hwy, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814 to benefit his nephew.
