Sophie Krivosky, 96, of Vermilion, Ohio and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away at 10:29 P.M. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion. She was born June 21, 1921 in Nemacolin, Pa., a daughter of the late Eli and Mary (Bencheck) Popovich. Mrs. Krivosky resided in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa. for the most of her life and is a member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church of Carmichaels. While residing in Carmichaels, she was a member of the Carmichaels Senior Center. On April 20, 1944, she married Pete Krivosky, who died February 7, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters, Rosemary Lewis (Dick) of Clarion, Pa. and Judi Shimrock (Pete) of Vermilion, Ohio; six grandchildren, Michele Carroll (Michael), Michael Lewis (Erin), Danielle Hoebing, Peter Shimrock (Sarita), Christian Shimrock and Brandi Shimrock; eight great grandchildren, Derek Hoebing, Mikayla and Macey Carroll, Hailey and Kendra Shimrock, Jesse, Tyler and Lacie Lewis and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Joe Popovich, Steve Popovich and Nick Popovich and a sister, Anna Holda.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 24, 2017. Father Rodney Torbic will officiate.
