Vernon D. Haney, 87, of Greensboro (Mapletown), Pa., died unexpectedly at 8:55 P.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born June 3, 1930 in Mapletown, a son of the late Clarence Colvin and Lucy Leona (Tanner) Haney. Mr. Haney was a lifelong resident of Greene County and was a Methodist. He served with the U. S. Army in Korea and worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for over 30 years as a truck driver, equipment operator and lastly retiring are a foreman in the early 1990's. Mr. Haney enjoyed music and was a self taught musician. He played the piano, guitar, banjo, accordion and trombone. Mr. Haney had a great sense of humor and especially enjoyed the company of his family. On February 13, 1955, he married Mary Lou Lint, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Clarence "Rusty" Haney (Jonea) of Dilliner, Pa., Kevin L. Haney (Julie) of Hillsboro, Ohio, Randy V. Haney (Susan) of Warner Robins, Ga. and Rick W. Haney (Tammy) of Summerville, S. C.; two daughters, Melissa J. Klein (Hunter) of Waynesburg, Pa. and Merri E. Chapman of Kannapolis, N. C.; 10 grandchildren, Sara, Andy, Audrey, Adam, Randi, Garion, Stephen, Carlie, Maddy and Penny; three great grandchildren, Rachael, Emily and Laney; several nieces and nephews and his Chihuahua, Maizy. Deceased are a son, Mark D. Haney; four brothers, Wilbur, Leslie, Harold and Paul Haney and a sister, Hilda H. Brumley.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 P. M. on Sunday in the funeral home with Mr. Clarence "Rusty" Haney officiating.
