Billie N. Kennedy, 68, of Dilliner, Pa., died at 8:10 P.M. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. He was born August 6, 1949 in Washington, Pa., a son of the late Minor N. and Alberta M. (Cooper) Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was a 1969 graduate of Mapletown High School and resided most of his life in the Greensboro area. He was an artilleryman with the U. S. Army in Vietnam. Mr. Kennedy worked at the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation Mine in Bobtown and the U. S. Steel Corporation Robena and Kirby Mines. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 2300 and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. On September 13, 1970, he married Dorothy I. Rowe, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William Nelson Kennedy and his wife, Jenny, of Garards Fort, Pa.; two daughters, Bobby J. Kennedy at home and Marsha M. Kennedy of Canonsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Lawrence C. Kennedy and Samantha R. Riley; two great grandchildren, Livia Mae Riley and Ezra Nelson Riley; a brother, Albert E. Kennedy and his wife, Nancy, of La Plata, Md. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Floyd L. Kennedy and Ralph J. Kennedy.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
