Roland "Slick" Sanders, 65, of Carmichaels, Pa. died at 9:24 A.M. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in his, home following a brief illness. He was born October 19, 1952 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of the late Roland B. and Gladys G. (Hughes) Sanders. Mr. Sanders worked at West Penn Wire in Washington, Pa. for about 25 years. He was a member of the Greene County Citizens Club in Crucible, Pa. and enjoyed antique and older cars, fishing and his pets. Mr. Sanders cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. On December 23, 1978 he married Susan Mae Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving in addition to his wife is a son, William J. Johnson of Holbrook, Pa.; two grandchildren, Austin Wise and Kalsey Shaye Johnson; three brothers, Michael J. Sanders of Mount Morris, Pa., Jasper L. Sanders of Jefferson, Pa. and Glenn Sanders of Spraggs, Pa.; six sisters, Deborah Strickler and her husband, Joseph, of Maidsville, W. Va., Lois Hanlan and Jaqueline Sanders both of Bobtown, Pa., Mary Jane Grim of Point Marion, Pa., Valerie Davis and her husband, Russell, of Bridgeport, Ohio and Lisa Sanders of Mount Morris and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are three sisters, Gladys Mae Grim, Catherine Strickler and Ethel Hanlan.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Pastor Cathie Carpenter will officiate.
