Homer R. Headlee, Jr., 85, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 6:20 A. M. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. He was born January 23, 1932 in Castile Ridge, Morgan Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of the late Homer Raymond and Virginia Oakley (Wilson) Headlee, Sr. Mr. Headlee served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict with the 101st Specialty Forces, was a Green Beret and paratrooper. He was employed in his early working life in Detroit, Mich. with Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corporation and Chrysler Corporation. Mr. Headlee also owned and operated his own trucking company. He joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 1954 and was a member of Local 425 and retired from Local 5. Mr. Headlee performed industrial electrical work at many locations in the surrounding area including the original W. V. U. Hospital, the Ruby Memorial Hospital, the W. V. U. Coliseum and PRT, Three Rivers Stadium, SCI Greene, the Fort Martin, Hatfields Ferry, Mitchell and Shippingport Power Stations and the Cumberland Coal Mine in Greene County. His family considered him to be a gentlemen farmer.

Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Sandra A. (Clark) Headlee; four sons, Homer "Ray" Headlee, III of Morgantown, W. Va., Edward Headlee (Mary) of Carmichaels, David Headlee (Alice) of Fredericktown, Pa., Michael Headlee (Janet) of Fayette City, Pa.; a step son, John Henderson (Alice Butler) of Crucible, Pa.; three daughters, Marianne Strope (Larry) Carmichaels, Pa., Linda Robuck (George) of Adger, Ala. and Amy Gomez (Dan) of Carmichaels; 27 grandchildren, Stephen Strope (Gillian), Tanya Conard (John), Amanda Mortensen (Stan), Jennifer Strope, Miranda Strope, Jasmine Strope, Avery Strope, George Strope, Timothy Headlee (Katie), Catherine Headlee, David Headlee, Jr., Amber Headlee, Homer Headlee, Charles Varner, Stacy Varner, Thomas Coode, Lillian Robuck, Niel Williams, Billy Joe Miller, Jessica Miller, Bethany Headlee (Michael), Christian Gomez, Evin Gomez, Falisatie Gomez, Areauna Shorter, Zachery Henderson, Rhenda Butler and Morgan Henderson; 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a daughter, Cheryl Cloutier; a grandson, Roland Cloutier, III; two great grandchildren; two brothers, James Headlee and Robert Headlee and a sister, Betty Forbes.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 21, 2018. The Rev. Dayton D. Mix will officiate.

Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mount Morris, Pa. with military honors accorded by Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and the U. S. Army.
