Gladys A. Danforth, 94, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 7:40 A.M. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Waynesburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after a lengthy illness. She was born January 16, 1924 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late George W. and Elsie E. (Goldstrom) Cales. Mrs. Danforth was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School and resided in Cumberland Township all of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmichaels and a former member of the Garden Club in Carmichaels. Mrs. Danforth enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and gardening. She cherished her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On July 19, 1946, she married Walter A. Danforth, who died October 22, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Mark A. Danforth of Crucible, Pa.; three grandchildren, Theresa M. Maskil (Walter), Clinton J. Danforth (Rhonda) and Jeffrey Danforth (Michaelle); a great grandson, Mason Palmer; two sisters, Vivian Cohen of Tiverton, R. I. and Marilyn Banghart of Waynesburg and nieces and nephews, Shelley Ellis (Chuck), Terry Pecjak (Frank), Roberta Ferguson (Charlie) and Dr. Tracey Cohen. Deceased are a son, Dennis J. Danforth; a sister, Evelyn Rulong; a nephew, Bill Rulong and a niece, Deeva Jo Dulaney.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 7 P.M. on Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Dayton D. Mix officiating.
Private interment will take place at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
