Amelia Venicasa, 93, of Masontown, Pa. died at 5:45 A.M. on Friday, November 2, 2018 in her home after a short illness. She was born May 11, 1925 in Ronco, Pa. a daughter of the late John and Rachel (Fata) Polish.
According to her family, Mrs. Venicasa was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She cherished her husband, children and grandchildren. Her home was always warm with love and wonderful meals for her family. Mrs. Venicasa enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, especially Christmas, which she embellished to perfection. Her daughters and grandchildren were very blessed to have the love and the great values of life that she gave to them. Mrs. Venicasa would send special cards to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her husband taking her to the mall twice a week where she loved walking to her favorite shops and seeing all of her friends. They loved her smile and laughter and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Venicasa had many wonderful and loving caregivers including Beverly and Mary Pincavitch, Angela Celli, Karen Davis and Tiffany Schrader. She appreciated the special care they gave to her. The family also acknowledges the loving care provided by the nurses and aides from Amedisys. All is greatly appreciated with the greatest gratitude.
On February 9, 1946, she married Armando Venicasa who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Rosella M. Snyder and her husband, John, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla. and Marcy A. Hunyady and her husband, Louis, of Waynesburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Sean Snyder and his wife, Olga, Tonya Long and her husband, James, and Scott Wesolowsky and six great grandchildren, Erica Johnson, Erin Johnson, Louis Hunyady, Megan Hunyady, Jax Hunyady and Kaiden Hunyady. Deceased are three brothers, Louis Polish, Frank Polish, Joe Polish and three sisters, Elinor Diluca, Olive Mayer and Ida Clearhee.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing services will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, followed at 11:00 A.M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Masontown with the Rev. J. Francis Frazer as celebrant. Interment will follow to St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Monday in the funeral home.
