Armando "Adam" Venicasa, 95, of Masontown, Pa. and formerly of Ronco, Pa., passed away at 6:26 P.M. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown. He was born August 26, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Philomina (Reda) Ross.
Mr. Venicasa was a graduate of German Township High School and was a kind man with good and hard work ethics. He enjoyed his home, especially in the summer when he planted his beautiful flowers and cut his grass and many shrubs to perfection. Mr. Venicasa loved to fish and went on many trips with his buddies. He also enjoyed hunting, especially bow hunting, in which he bagged his last deer at the age of 82.
Mr. Venicasa had many wonderful and loving caregivers at his home before he transitioned to Cloverdale. A special thanks is extended to Beverly and Mary Pincavitch, Angela Celli, Karen Davis and Tiffany Schrader. Also, the family acknowledges the loving care provided by the nurses and aides from Amedisys Hospice. All is greatly appreciated with the greatest of gratitude. While only a resident a short time, the family would also like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided at Cloverdale Personal Care Home. A special thanks is extended to Carol Assad and all the nurses and aides.
On February 9, 1946 he married Amelia Polish, who passed away on November 2, 2018. Surviving are two daughters, Rosella M. Snyder and her husband, John, of Point Saint Lucie, Fla. and Marcy A. Hunyady and her husband, Louis, of Waynesburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Sean Snyder and his wife, Olga, Tonya Long and her husband, James, and Scott Wesolowsky; six great grandchildren, Erica Johnson, Erin Johnson, Louis Hunyady, Megan Hunyady, Jax Hunyady and Kaiden Hunyady. Mr. Venicasa adored his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them. In addition, he is survived by a brother, Lou Venicasa and his wife, Sylvia, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Rose Pringle and her husband, Jack, of Greensboro, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Joe Ross, John Venicasa and Harry Benicasa and a sister, Helen Rapanotti.
Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 6 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing services will be held at 9:15 A.M. on Monday, January 28, 2019, followed at 10:00 A.M. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Masontown with the Rev. William G. Berkey as celebrant.
Interment will follow to St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
