Carmen M. Kerr, 87, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Smithfield, Pa., passed away at 1:05 P.M. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born July 17, 1931 in Nemacolin, Pa., a daughter of the late Flores and Benita (Garrido) Quintana. Mrs. Kerr attended Nemacolin Elementary School and was a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and enjoyed needlepoint.
On September 7, 1974, she married William G. Kerr who survives. Also surviving are a son, John David Shanto (Joy) of Wickliffe, Ohio; five grandchildren, Melanie Snyder, Christopher Shanto, Jamie Shanto, Shannon Shanto and Jacob Shanto; a step son, William G. Kerr, Jr. (Tonnie) of Mount Union, Pa.; two step daughters, Diana L. Kerr of Carmichaels and Donna K. Waine (Fred) of Waynesburg; three step grandchildren, Dawn M. Clark (Tony), Vaughn L. Mankey (Celina) and Freddie Waine (Bre) and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Michael Curtis Shanto; two brothers, Joseph Quintana and Nicholas Quintana and four sisters, Virginia Zaubi, Mary Ustupski, Frances Zaubi and Cecelia Gregorich.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Pastor P. Keith Larson will officiate.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Crucible, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the memorial fund of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
